Thanksgivingness

(To all those not from the United States, tomorrow – November 24 – is Thanksgiving.)

I was talking to Christy the other day and realized, much to my chagrin, that I always seemed to be venting about something bad. Or, at least, something that I thought was bad enough to spend quality time with her venting about. I realized that I was becoming a chronic whiner. One of those people that always has something dire going on in their life. One of those people that always seems to have a little black cloud hanging over their head. One of those people that you cross the street or take the next elevator to avoid. One of those people that you're loathe to bump into and ask, "How ya doin'?" because you don't really want to hear a litany of the crap that's happened to them since you last avoided talking to them.

Seeing myself on the precipice of this abyss wasn't pretty. Diving headlong into a bottomless pit of self-pity and drowning in a pool of negativity ain't pretty. So I made a vow a couple of days ago to not say anything negative for 24 hours (in a row). I think I made it, more or less, but it was hard. It's amazing how easy it is to start spouting about the woes of your life to anyone who'll listen. But I made it, regardless. Mission accomplished. Christy reminded me that, even when lots of bad stuff happens, there's always – and I mean always – good stuff that happens too. We just forget about it sometimes. Or think it's not really worth mentioning. Or we relegate that good stuff to life's B List because it's not as important as the A List crap.

I wasn't entirely successful in my quest for a vent-free day, but I came damn close. (And Christy? If I wasn't as successful as I think I was, I don't wanna know!) And it felt good. I found myself looking for positivity, and I found it. Pretty much everywhere.

So, to that end, the following is a list of good things that happen to me every day, often, and sometimes.

1) The Boys: There's something about my cats trotting into the bathroom while I'm using it that just warms my heart. Seeing their little furry faces in mine first thing in the morning usually starts my day off right.

2) My mom: We have the silliest conversations about nothing and they always leave me grinning. She does more for me than for herself and I honestly don't know what I'd do without her.

3) My fireplace: I bought my first set of fireplace tools ever, picked up some Duraflames and haven't looked back. Napping in front of a crackling fire is heaven on earth.

4) A car for 3 weeks: I don't have a car of my own (long story), but I recently got to be custodian of my mom's car for 3 weeks while she traveled. I didn't actually use it every day, but knowing it was parked out there was nice. The fact that she trusted me with her car was even nicer. (Note to self: Get a car next year!)

5) No line at Wal-Mart: Wal-Mart can be hell on earth. But the other day, in the rain, I was able to pop in there, find what I needed, and there was one guy in line in front of me with 3 small items, and he paid with cash! 5 minutes, in and out.

6) WIC neighbor: My neighbor Ashley, whose hubby won't be back from Afghanistan until at least July, just had a baby and she's on WIC. Every so often, she has extra wheat bread, milk and apple juice. And what does she do with all that extra stuff? She gives it to yours truly. Finally! A cool neighbor!

7) Skype: It still gives me a stomach ache when I try to figure out how they can offer video Skype for free. But it seriously rocks. Soon there's gonna be a generation that doesn't remember what it was like to have a long-distance relationship without free long-distance, texting, emailing and Skype.

8) Organizing: I moved recently and it was a bitch. Obviously, I've moved before, but for some reason getting unpacked and put together was especially challenging this time. I had a burst of energy recently (thank you, Christy) and got a bunch of stuff done last weekend. So much so that I was able to light a fire since all the melt-ables in front of the fireplace were finally put away. (See No. 3)

9) Rain: This morning I was awakened by pouring rain. I got up, opened the blinds, and went back to bed. The sound of the rain on the window lulled me back to sleep. Rainfall is the most wonderful 'white noise' in the world.

10) Christy: She's my good thing every day, often and sometimes. Even bad days are better because I know she's there to tell me everything's going to be okay. As David Gates from the 70s rock group Bread would say, "Never let her go".

So these are some of my good things, big and small, sometimes and always. I hope you have some thanksgivingness to reflect on too.

  1. You were very successful in your quest for a vent-free day. I'm proud of you. And honestly, as I told you, you were never that bad.

Good things that happen to me every day, often, and sometimes:

    1) My mom: I can't thank her enough for everything she's done for me or the many times she's been there. Big things like waking to see her sitting in a chair in my hospital room. Little things like sharing her marinated mushrooms. She's the best!

    2) Pumpkin spice cookie tart things: They were supposed to be pumpkin spice cookies, but I had more batter than I expected after dolloping 20 on a cookie sheet. So I pulled out a tart tin and created a batch of cookie tart things. Sometimes my creativity is good.

    3) Awesome neighbors: They sweep the snow away from my door while I'm at work, move my trash can next to my garage on trash day, watch out for me and my place, and are just generally nice people.

    4) Skype: One of the best inventions ever! I can see family who live 9 hours away or 1,500 miles away. Best of all, it's allowed me to feel like my honey is in the same room, even when he's not.

    5) My big brown chair: It's over-sized and down-filled. I can curl up in it and be so cozy and comfortable I fall asleep.

    6) The view from my home: It's amazing and one of the main reasons I live where I do. As I sit in my big brown chair I look out on a tree-lined street, which leads to a perfect view of mountains. It relaxes me.

    7) My kitchen and all the stuff in it: See #1 for why I have all the stuff. Mom made sure I had all the equipment to cook any meal. All I had to do was learn how to cook any meal. Steven took care of that. We cook together at least once a week, and one of the most important things he's taught me is to have confidence in myself. I can cook. And I really like the end product.

    8) Christmas shopping being done: I'm on top of things this year. That makes me happy.

    9) My niece and nephew: They're under 3 years old, adorable, and make me smile just by being them. They're both unique little people.

    10) Steven: He keeps me grounded, calm, and brings me peace. Not an easy feat. If I'm having a bad day, he reminds me it's all going to be OK. I'm so very thankful he's part of my life, and can't remember what it was like before came back into it.

  2. Love, love, love this post! A few months ago I would have had a hard time thinking of things. But things are looking up.

Good things that happen to me every day, often, and sometimes:

    1. @Steven and @Christy - They were so nice to me when I was going through a rough time. I appreciate them.

    2. My friends and family - I don't know what I would do without them. They hung in there with me through the dark times and now are with me in the sunshine.

    3. My animals - Furballs of love.

    4. The pasta I made tonight - OMG it was good! Sometimes things I cook don't turn out all that great, but this was kick-a$$.

    5. The restaurant down the street - They remember me when I go there and I don't have to tell them what I want to drink.

    6. Oranges - I just like them. I have one every day.

    7. My red blanket - I've had it for years and years and it's worn, but I love it. It keeps me warm and makes me feel a little more secure.

    8. Hand lotion - This time of year I really need it.

    9. My job - I know a lot of people don't have jobs and I'm very thankful to have one.

    10. My computer - It lets me read things like this blog post and I'm very thankful for that.

Thank you @Steven for a super great post!

  3. 1) my husband. the one person that I know with every cell of my body loves me.

    2) my friends, I have not been very "sociable"this year, as this year has been very challenging for some reasons. But there are a few that still stick around, some even in real life.

    3) my music. (that I listen to, from my archive)

    4) my books (I will hopefully find my way back to writing besides reading)

    5) unexpected friendlyness of people who do not have to be friendly

    6)my work

    7) hot showers (almost meditativ)

    8) coffee with chocolate, chili and a dash of vanilla ice cream *sigh*

    9) apples

    10) "open"

  4. This was such a good post! It's the first one that has inspired me to comment. I especially like the short-term goal that was set, and so, easily met. Every night I think of one thing at which I've succeeded and at least one thing for which I'm thankful. Not difficult at all.

  5. Duh. You can tell I've never done this before. I meant to say this was such a good blog, not post.

  6. Happy Giving Thanks! :) Hugs to you and your lovely Christy!

  7. I'm coming back later to post my ten things, but I wanted to say right now how much I really like this post! I hope you and Christy have a great Thanksgiving!

    ReplyDelete
  8. OK. Here's my list of ten.

    1. My mom and dad - best people I've ever known. They've been there for me through thick and thin. I know I can count on them when I really need them. They helped me become who I am.

    2. My boyfriend - he's the coolest person I've ever known and another person I know is there for me no matter what. He loves me for me and doesn't expect or want me to change.

    3. A roof over my head - I've never been homeless and I hope I never am. I'm always grateful for where I live and the things I have.

    4. Spring - I hate winter but I love spring because it's like everything is being reborn and waking up. I love spring.

    5. The check I got in the mail - finally.

    6. Chicken - it just rocks. You can do so many things with chicken. So many meals can be made and I love the taste of it.

    7. Comfortable shoes - I'm not a high heels kind of girl. I think they're stupid. My boyfriend likes me in the comfortable flat shoes I wear and that's good because I'll never wear heels. They're uncomfortable and torture devices.

    8. Sarcastic people - they make me laugh. Many of my friends fall in this category.

    9. My friends - I love them all and they love me.

    10. Life - I'm just happy to be alive.

    ReplyDelete
  9. 1. My job - I was laid off 2 years ago and was lucky enough to find a job a year later. Some people aren't that lucky.

    2. My car - It's not a hoopty but it's not shiny and new either. It gets me where I need to go and since I didn't have a car for a while I'm grateful. I lost my old one in my divorce and it took me a while to get this one.

    3. Fishing and camping - There's nothing like a night outdoors and fresh fish. I like the quiet.

    4. Microwaves - I don't cook so this is a lifesaver for me. Beats fast food and sandwiches all the time.

    5. My bed - I have a great bed. I sleep like a baby in it. My pre-divorce bed was bad. It was too hard and too small.

    6. An affordable place to live - It's not easy these days. Lots of home foreclosures means lots of people wanting to rent which means higher rent. Mine is reasonable. I hope it stays that way.

    7. Walmart - I'm a bargain shopper and Walmart is the place. I know a lot of people hate them but they save me lots of money.

    8. Cereal - I like cereal for all meals not just breakfast. I don't mean that's all I eat, I mean I'll sometimes eat it for dinner just because it's good.

    9. My dog - He's a mutt but he's cool. Suede is his name and he's my best friend. Yeah I know. That was corny, but it's true. He's been with me through thick and thin.

    10. The kitchen table I just found - Somebody put it out for trash and I saved it. A little sanding, some staining, and I have a like new table. The thrift store was a good place to find chairs. They don't match but I don't care. They do what they're supposed to do and my buddies can come over for poker now.

  10. I've dhad a bad year and didn't think I had anything to be thankful for so I wasn't going to do this but I decided to try anyway just because. @Steven you made me think of things I'm thankful for and that was nice. Thank you!

    1. God - He alwasy come first and I'm very thankful He's in my life. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

    2. My church - the people there are real nice to me and welcome me all the tiem into things. I like it there.

    3. I'm with @Sarah. Steven and Chrisy (mostly Steven) - they've been real nice to me this year, even when I didn't deserve it. Steven is a nice man who didn't just blow me off but asked why me I was acting not like myself. That was nice.

    4. Sunnshine - I like the sun especially when it's winter and cold outside.

    5. My friend who gave me a computer - I didn't have one at home before and she gave me this one that I'm typing on now. I guess I could add the computer to that.

    6. Blankets - I get cold easy. I have lots of blankets that I pile on when it gets cold and I like them.

    7. My job - they've been real understanding about me going through stuff this year.

    8. My stoev - I thought it was broke but the pilot light was just out. I'm real happy about that. I was afraid it wasn't working yesterday.

    9. Romance books - I like to read them when I'm feeling down. That's been lots lately.

    10. The bus - it gets me everywhwere I need to go. I gueess my buss pass should be on there too.

  11. What a great post for Thanksgiving or really any time of year! I have to post my list!

    1. My husband! We got married this year and it's been heaven. I can't even begin to tell you guys how much my life has been changed by him. I know he loves me without a doubt, and he will always be there for me.

    2. My family! I love them, even when they don't love me back. We go through things and that's OK. We always work it out, even if it takes years. I'm hanging in there for some of them.

    3. Surviving my life! It's been really hard at times but I've done it. I'm a survivor and I'm proud of it. I've been through things that some people only read about.

    4. My animals! They're part of our family. They're our furry little kids and we love them all. Oh and I can't forget the feathered ones too.

    5. Good food! I love a good meal. Food makes me happy. I've found that it can bring people together and break the ice.

    6. My big comfortable couch! It's plush and I love to snuggle on it with my hubby. It's big enough for both of us. We saved and saved until we had enough money to buy exactly the one we wanetd.

    7. Air conditioning and heat! I don't want to ever have to live without them again. I really, really appreciate being able to turn them on when it's too hot or too cold.

    8. Gloves! My hands get cold and I love having gloves to put on them. I keep a pair at home, work, in the car.

    9. My new mixing bowls! Gosh these came in handy yesterday when I was making Thanksgiving dinner. I needed them and saved up for just the right ones. They're perfect!

    10. The life I get to live now! I'm so lucky to get another chance at having a good life with a good man and good friends. I appreciate it everyday. We're not rich but we're happy. I wouldn't trade my life for any other. I feel like the luckiest woman on earth.

A message to anybody who made it this far - don't put things off in life. Live every day like it was your last and appreciate everything you have. Don't wait to do things. You always think you have more time, but sometimes you don't or things change. If an opportunity comes up, go for it. Don't let the love of your life slip out of your life. He or she may not be there tomorrow. Don't wait to start your life. Life is happening now, not later when you have more money or more time. Don't miss the little moments of greatest that happen every day. They're the things that add up to happiness. If things are getting you down, remember that you have a lot to be thankful for and life is amazing! It's always going to change and get better. I know this for fact. Just sieze every moment, especially if it involves people you love.

  12. This is from the wife and me.

    1. Each other: We reconnected this year and we're better than ever as a couple.

    2. @Steven and his blog: It's partly thanks to him that the wife and me reconnected. He wrote about things that really hit home and made me change my ways.

    3. Our house: It's not fancy but it's almost paid for and it's home.

    4. Our animals: We love 'em. Their sweet and loving.

    5. Friends and family: Real people we know in real life that is. I spent a lot of time with people online last year but this year I took more time with people I know in real life.

    6. Work: We're happy to have income right now. It's not a lot but it's better than nothing.

    7. Yahtzee: The wife and me play it all the time and have a ball. We laugh a lot while we play and our Yahtzee time has started to be our time.

    8. Coupons: We're coupon cutters and online coupon people. We like bargains and like to see the dollars come off the final bill.

    9. Our fireplace: We light a fire every night. It's a small pleasure in our lives.

    10. Naps: We both like to take naps when we can. There's nothing like a nap together on a Sunday afternoon, then waking up and doing something fun together.

  13. Whenever one of these "list posts" gets going, I see so many things on other people's lists that I wish I'd included on my own. Friends and family is a biggie. I feel like I've gotten to know a lot of you over the course of this year, and it's been amazing. You've made this blog experience really amazing. I was afraid I'd be all gung-ho about it for a couple of months, and then I'd sort of peter out. Not so. You guys have made it a blast for me to share my thoughts. And I've loved hearing your thoughts about, well, everything. Thank you.

@Christy: We've talked about most everything on your list already. But I love the "pumpkin spice cookie tart things"! I mean the name, since I didn't actually get to eat any of them. I'm glad your mom liked them. But the name rocks! (I'm also glad you have a big green chair when you're here. And The Boys aren't using it.)

@Sarah: I'm glad Christy and I were able to help in some small way when you were going through a bad time. And I like oranges too! And apples (@sorei) and peaches and cantaloupe and…;-)

@sorei: #8? Did you mean hot chocolate with chili and vanilla ice cream??? LOL! And #10 - what did you mean by "open"? I also meant to include unexpected gestures of kindness and friendliness on my list. That kind of stuff makes my day, sometimes my week!

@Ajb: It's so nice to finally see you here, MOM! I love you! That's a nice practice of thinking of something you did right for the day and something your thankful for. It's easy to forget those things.

@Anita: Happy Giving Thanks to you too, my old friend. :-)

@Shay: Chicken does rock! I had turkey yesterday and leftover turkey today and I'm still having chicken for dinner tonight. All hail our fowl friends! I glanced at your list and saw "Sarcastic people" and thought, "Um…this is supposed to be a list of positive things." LOL!

@Tom: I'm right there with ya with the car thing. I haven't had one for, geez, 4 years now. I have a feeling I'm going to be just as grateful as you when I finally get one again. It's been an interesting exercise being car-less, and I actually don't regret it. But I'm kinda done with it now. I can also eat Grape Nuts any time of day or night.

@Tammy: You did have a rough year. But, by golly, you made it. I'm just glad I could help a little. I'm also really glad you got a computer at home again. Yay!

@Michelle: I like what you said about working things out with family, even if it takes years. I'm in the middle of something that has the potential to go on for years, and I don't want it to. But I'm going to try to have faith that things will eventually work out the way they're supposed to work out, even if it isn't necessarily according my plan. The mixing bowls cracked me up! It's amazing how something so small can be so cool. Christy and I each got these killer knives to help us prepare the meals we cook together via Skype, and they're awesome! Not expensive, just nice. (And very sharp.)

@Grey Goose: Yo, yo, yo!!! Good to see you again, dude! Glad you and the missus are still rocking'! You were one of the first "regulars" to show up here, and you've made this whole blog experience such a joy. I'm glad it helped you, um, prioritize too. :-) It's funny – this blog helped you get offline, so to speak. And it's helped me be more online, but with the same positive result. Christy and I are closer than ever (physically and emotionally), and this blog helped us bond even more because we work on our blogs together (proofreading and reality-checking one another). It's been very, very cool. And Yahtzee!!! Ha! Christy and I love that and my fireplace, even though we haven't had a chance to play or sit by a fire together yet. But we will. Yea, verily, we shall.

  14. Awww, you two are so sweet! It really IS good to remember all the great things in your life. Especially when you are having a crappy day, week, month, whatever.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Wonderful post Steven!! I'm glad to see you are learning to see the good in things. :)
I'm a naturally positive person (one of those peppy, bubbly kind of people) so it's a bit easier for me to see the good and positive in things. Not to mention, ever since a major event happened a few years ago, I've learned not to take the good for granted. I'm thankful everyday for all the things I have.

    1) my husband. I'm so thankful everyday for the love he has for me, the love we have for each other. He is the best thing that has ever happened to me and I love him with all my heart and soul.

    2) my kids. Even on the days my 9 yr old throws and attitude and my 4 yr old throws tantrums, they are still really really great kids. They are polite (my 4 yr old extreme polite..yells at you if you don't say you're welcome or thank you), for the most part well-behaved kids. And smart. Doing incredibly well in school. I'm so proud beyond words.

    3) my health (and family's health). There are a lot of sick people in this world, lots of disease and cancer and diabetes. I'm thankful that my family is very healthy.

    4) a home. It may not be the dream house I want, but it's a roof, keeps us warm, and really isn't too shabby. Needs some work but that will come in time. I love our neighborhood and we have amazing neighbors.

    5) Friends. I have friends that are always there for me, no matter what. Friends that are there for me in my time of need as well as just to hang out and have fun. I truly feel loved.

    6) my family (mom, dad, brothers). I'm thankful I still have my mom and dad..they are getting older and I know I won't have them forever. They are still in good health, they take care of my boys when hubby and I need a break, and my mom is my best friend. I still talk to my mom almost everyday.

    7) wealth. Granted, we are not wealthy. We live paycheck to paycheck, but despite that we are a family of four on only one income, we sacrifice things to make it work. And I'm ok with that. Sure I'd love to renovate our bathroom (that we have been talking about doing since we moved here 8 yrs ago) but the money just isn't there. Of course I'd love to have more money, but in all honesty, we have enough to get by. We do pretty well for ourselves, considering how the economy is doing and people losing jobs, etc. I feel so grateful that I'm able to stay home with my boys.

    8) jobs. I'm so grateful my husband has a wonderful and stable job. I hear of many stories of people being laid off or losing their jobs, so I feel pretty lucky that my husband has a really great job, and most importantly, actually enjoys it. I will admit, sometimes it's a pain when he has to work longer hours, or is on call and gets tons of pages (especially during family time), but it's so much better than no job at all.

    9) my renewed interest in writing. I want to be a novelist when I grow up. :) I wrote a book a few years ago, set it aside, and hadn't touched it since. I started a writing class a few months ago and now have a renewed passion for writing again :)

    10. I can go on and on and on about everything in my life. I'm pretty darn lucky. I really don' t have much to complain about at all. And when I do, I try to think about the people who have it much worse than me. Like people who don't have any money to buy their kids presents this year. People who don't have any food, or a home. I think about the family of 9 in my neighborhood who lost everything but what they were wearing to a house fire just before Thanksgiving.

Yeah, I'm very grateful for all I have. :)

    Thanks Steven.

  16. @Brenda: Nice to see you again! And a wonderful list. AND – Yay! for writing again! :-)

  17. @Stephen

Just got back from my working weekend.
We do drink coffee with additional ingredients, such as: cocoa, a dash of chili and I add (my husband does not like vanilla) a little vanilla icecream from to time....

and yes again, "open" kind of means: exprecht the unexpected ;)
and it means: list can be continued, too....
    :-)
(btw, for tonight number 10) would be: my new ebook reader, a TrekStor)

  18. @theminx: Um...huh??? I had so many drainers that that post wasn't about any particular one. It was a collective rant. ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  19. I was merely pointing out that you were becoming the whiner you complained about in your first post. Not that the post was about "any particular one."

    Um indeed.

    ReplyDelete
  20. @theminx: Um...ah-ha!

Yep, I was afraid I was becoming a whiny, hypocritical little drainer. Thank goodness for me and all my potential victims that I wasn't. Nowadays, I just self-drain.

    ReplyDelete
  21. @theminx it sounded like you were saying it was one person to me too.

    My list -

    1. Roses: They're my favorite flower and I buy myself three every Monday.

    2. Hot weather: I hate the cold and love summer. Let the sun shine!

    3. Puppies: My dog just had a litter and they are so sweet!

    4. Music: There's something for every mood I have, I have it somewhere on my computer.

    5. My family: I have great kids and an amazing husband. I couldn't have asked for better.

    6. Blogs like this: I love reading blogs. People are so creative and talented.

    7. Mexican food: I love it! Can't get enough and I'm making enchiladas tonight.

    8. My house: We're underwater on it, but we plan on staying here until we die, or close to it. I love it and wouldn't live anywhere else. Some day it will be paid for.

    9. My phone: I have it with me all the time and can't believe there was a day when we didn't have smart phones or even just cell phones.

    10. Food: I'm a foodie, and proud of it!

    ReplyDelete
  22. @Steven

I keep getting mailor daemons when trying to mail you...?

    ReplyDelete
  23. @sorei: I just sent you an email. Don't know why the daemon demons are happening...

@Jenessa: Love your list! I was always a dog person until I got my cats. Now I'm constantly trying to decide what's cuter: puppies or kittens. Usually I decide they're both about the same. :-) Funny that one of your things was your phone. I was cursing my phone this weekend because I felt chained to it. But, overall, I'm very grateful that cell phones are cheap, smart and small. My first cell phone in the dark ages wasn't any of those things! LOL!

And I'm glad you like my blog! I hope you'll check back from time to time. :-)

  25. I know I'm late but I wanted to add my list too.

    1. My not so exhusband. We remarried this year and we're better than ever. It's been 17 years since we divorced. What can I say? People do change.

    2. My new grandbaby. She's the most precious thing you'd ever want to see. We're blessed.

    3. My new hair color. I just got it done yesterday and I love it. Took 10 years off me.

    4. The gently used car my husband and I have saved for for months. We're buying it tomorrow. It's taken us a lot of time but we did it with no debt.

    5. The little house we're renting. I'm grateful for it. We can afford it and I really like it.

    6. Coffee. I can't function without it.

    7. Rain. I think it's soothing. It makes me relax when I hear it. Sorry Steven I stole this one, but it's true.

    8. Books. I read every night before I go to sleep. They take me to places I'll never get to see.

    9. People who love me. I love them back. We all need people who love us.

    10. My old worn out slippers. They are so comfortable. I would wear them all the time if I could.

  26. @Leslie: Fortunately, it's never too late in Blogland! :-)

Wow! You guys got back together after 17 years divorced! You beat my girlfriend and I. We dated for a few months 13 years ago and got back together last summer. It's been amazing. I'm so happy for you guys. It at first you don't succeed...

Couple questions: what color is your hair now? And what kinda car did you guys get? (You can blow off the hair question, but I'm a guy so I've gotta know about the car! lol!)

I read your rain one and I was, "Did I say that one too...?" And then I read the rest of it. LOL!

Thanks for posting, Leslie! Hope to see you again. :-)

  27. Great post. Sometimes I get stuck in that negative mode too and need to snap out of it. Making a list is a good way to do it. I have a lot to be happy about. I just need to remember it all. I like your list.

    1. Thanks, Jorge! I really need to come back to this post more often and read my list and everybody else's. It's hard to remember all the cool things to be grateful when you're in the weeds, and that's exactly when you need to remember those things most.

I like your comment, and I really am glad you stopped by and shared for a spell. Come on back sometime!

  28. Love it! I need to sit down and list my things. I think we all need this, not just at this time of year but all the time. It's usually at Thanksgiving that we think about it tho. Great post! Just a great post! I like your list.

    1. Awww, thanks @Sonja! You're right, we should try to remember these all the time, not just for a week or two at the end of the year.

Definitely post a list when you get a chance!
